The Perspective of a Bee by #25

I buzz around in the hectic beehive. Every bee is industrious, and doing their finest to make syrup-like honey. I fly out of the hive from dandelion to dandelion, and then buzz back to my colony again. I start to ache. I am so weary from this task, and so I decide to buzz away...for an outstretched time span.

I reach this towering building. I buzzzz to the uppermost part of the structure. I look over at the park my tree was in. I spot the maple that houses all of my bee neighborhood. I see them engaged in their hard work to help each other make honey. I decide that I should help my bee community instead of being concerned about myself. I get ready to fly off back to my familiar hive. I hear my wings start to flutter rapidly. I am on my way home.

"Just a Slab of Concrete" by Sydney Durrant, P2

I'm just a little slab of concrete. My sole purpose in this life is to have people walk on me. Seriously. That's the pathetic life I lead. Of course, I don't really have a life, but that's not important right now. I'm really not important right now, or even at all. At least, according to the general population. Nobody ever thinks about me. Nobody ever notices me. Nobody ever wonders, "I wonder how the poor sidewalk ould feel if I spat on it?" I'm just there. There for them to walk on.

I'm always there, though. Honestly, I don't really have a choice, being cemented in place, but I'm still very loyal. I think people should call me "man's best friend". I help them a LOT, even if they don't realize it. In the spring, after a drizzling rain, when the cool, clear water seeps into the ground and makes it slippery with mud, I give people a hard, solid place they can walk on without fear of an embarrassing slip. (It is really funny when people slip, though.) In the winter, when a swirling blizzard of snow coats the ground in a blanket whiteness, I give people a path to walk on when they can't see any other. Even without snow, I'm a path they can follow to get to almost anywhere they want. They take me for granted, but I'm always there for them. I really am important.

ant perspective by 428

Mom told me to go play on the sidewalk. I played in and out of the crevices. It was my favorite place to play in. It is the safest place to play in because the humans rarely come this way. As I went along I found the hugest crumb ever. I was going to go tell everyone but that was when the humans came out. They started stomping on my friends. I crawled inside my home to tell mom.

When i was inside the hill I heard thunder which gave more pressure to tell mom what was happening. Mom said "Don't go near them." Me, my friends, and my family stampeded out of the hill. When we got out I looked back and saw the humans spraying this cloudy yellow gas. But all I thought was no, no, no our home is lost. I was lost in thought for what felt like hours. But we finally came to the safe house with the gas masks.
